65 cows dead in ladugårdsbrand outside Ljungby – Sweden’s Radio

the Rescue service in Ljungby got the alarm at 04-time on Monday morning about a fire in the Össlöv, north-east of Ljungby. 65 animals died in the fire.

a Total of 18 brandstyrkor from several municipalities in the county are with out ladugårdsbyggnaden that should have been in flames when the first rescue team arrived at the scene.

According to the SOS alarm was the fire under control at 05-time during the morning. The first rescue team was on site at 04:15-the time and the emergency services from, among others, Ljungby, Alvesta, Växjö, Visslanda, Värnamo, sweden and Älmhult is in place to fight the fire.

On the site are two barns, according to the P4 Kronoberg. In total there have been approximately 85 animals. One barn with 20 animals have not burned. According to the rescue are the animals unharmed. The 65 animals in the other barn are dead, then they burned inside. The barn has burned to the ground.

the Road between Ljungby and Lagan, county road 568, has been shut down because of the fire. Motorists are urged to use other roads during the efforts to extinguish the fire.

No person shall be damaged in the fire. The cause of the fire is not known, according to the Emergency services.
