"at the end of the all year, we need to see better results," said national police commissioner Dan Eliasson in SVT:s Agenda in september, following the announcement that only 14 per cent of all reported crimes were solved in 2015.

Then came the next cold shower – in 2016, reported to the police, ten per cent fewer cases to prosecutors, compared with 2015 and 16 000 fewer crimes got their solution.

the Government requires a plan of the national police on how the police crisis must be solved. Interior minister Anders Ygeman (S) shall meet with Dan Eliasson on Friday. The conservatives, the Liberals and the Christian democrats have demanded Eliasson departure from the past.

But polisprofessor Leif GW Persson does not believe that it will be the outcome after Friday’s emergency meeting.

” I put the money on to Eliasson. If he does not himself have had enough, but I have a hard time believing it. He is no "quitter", says Persson to SvD.

Eliasson has a strong political basis and to get rid of him changes nothing in the thing

He continues:

” Eliasson has a strong political basis and to get rid of him changes nothing in the thing. In addition, one would have to find a new suitable person, and where you lose a lot of time, ” says Persson.

He believes that Eliasson is "associated" with the reform – the police reorganization – which had wide political support and that is a change which the government and the Ygeman, in particular, has been clearly positive.

Leif GW is, however, critical to how Eliasson has been "dealt with its police officers" and says that the police will continue to report deteriorating results.

He is not so smooth the where he. Cops are vulnerable to being called for preposterous and pathetic, which he did in an interview with you, and if he would continue to go overboard in the direction it might go bad. But he is too smart for it.

Persson is clear with that he did not see the crisis in the police as a personproblem, without, for example, it is about the way low polistäthet. According to GW needed about 30 000 services to the Swedish polistäthet shall be comparable to other western countries. For many people in Sweden do not have adequate access to police, he says.

– where the decline of ten per cent, is not so strange. It is the percentage that you have drained from the police workforce, says Leif GW Persson.

the minister of the Interior has not wanted to go in too hard against Eliasson, even if he demanded better results from the police organization.

“I am satisfied with the garda commissioner, which I think sometimes may take a little too much undeserved harsh criticism,” said Ygeman in SVT:s Agenda in september.

On request to Dan Eliasson from the Swedish newspaper SvD said presstaben that "the national police have no comment other than that he looks forward to the discussion with the minister of the interior on Friday."
