KARLSTAD . Gustav Fridolin wanted a stronger position in his party.
There, he was not.
Almost every fourth representative abstained from voting for him.
it takes time to be ultra-democratic and therefore it took roughly four hours to vote for those who will lead the green to the next Congress.
Gustav Fridolin was the result earthshaking. When he and Asa Romson under coup-like shapes stood their places available for a couple of weeks ago, arguing that they wanted a stronger mandate.
The strategy failed completely. It was just the opposite.
Åsa Romson forced out as spokesperson and chose himself to quit as environment minister. Gustav Fridolin walked out of the crisis with a severely weakened mandate.
The last time voted almost all representatives of Fridolin as spokesperson. But now chose 63 of a total of 263 voters to cast their votes to other candidates or abstained. Someone may also completed the selection form incorrectly.
This means that almost every fourth representative, 23.9 percent chose Fridolin removed as spokesperson. A vote of no confidence called suffice but Fridolin the usual way shrugged off.
– I have learned a lot of criticism. And I think that I have received a strong mandate.
No, it’s not. 76 percent voted for Fridolin, the rest did not.
Muttras in the corridors
The support for the new female spokesperson, Cooperation Isabella Lövin, is stronger than Gustav Fridolin. 87 percent of the delegates voted for her. The rest voted for someone else, shiny, or did wrong.
It muttras part in the corridors of Congress premises here in Karlstad that Fridolin come easily away while Asa Romson had to take much of the blame for the MP-crisis . It was triggered by the former housing minister Mehmet Kaplan was shown to have been in the wrong crowd and said stupid things.
But really about the crisis on the lack of political success for the Green Party in the government. It has unleashed the frustration of the green.
In order to silence the debate, the party has gone through the 221 promises made in the election manifesto. And lo and behold, they found that 69 per cent of the pledges have been or are about to be fulfilled.
But then, for example, expects that several nuclear power plants will be closed during the mandate period. It is busfräckt. The Green Party has nothing to do with the owners of the four reactors announced plans to close them within the next four years because they are unprofitable. It is due to the sharp fall in the prices of electricity, not on the green.
Ambitious documents
Only nine promises will not be met before the next elections. One of them comes to LGBT people under the MP should have strengthened asylum.
An ambitious document, no two ways about it. But the risk is that the strategy behind it will be as unsuccessful as Fridolin and Romsons plan to get stronger mandate.
It is very few people care about the promise of a new food strategy are met or not. However remember many clearly Gustav Fridolin waving a piece of coal during the election campaign and the commitment to Vattenfall’s German coal (which was not included in the election manifesto) would stay in the ground.
It will not stop there. It will be dug up by a Czech energy company.
Many people also remember the failed attempt to stop the Stockholm Bypass for expensive money. And to Bromma airport would be closed, which will not take place.
Green Party acute crisis is over. But the Greens have a lot to work with to get back on solid ground.
