Facebook removed the plus-model image – was “unhealthy” – Metro

It was the feminist talk show “Feminism and fat” as the US plus-size model Tess Holliday starred in an ad. The show advocate a more nuanced picture of how bodies can look and Tess Holliday posed in a bikini on a picture of the event on Facebook, but suddenly it was removed by the site itself.

The reason was that it violated their health and fitness policy.

Facebook motivated act by responding that “The picture depicts a body of undesirably. Advertising must not show a health condition that perfectly or extremely unattractive. ” They also said that pictures showing waists where the stomach is above byxkanten, people in the tight clothes or depicting eating disorders will be removed.

Instead urged Facebook co-founder of the event to “use images on a relevant activity such as running or cycling. ”

As a small child got the US plus-size model Tess Holliday often told she was too short and overweight to fit into the fashion industry, but today she is a successful model that advocates a more open approach to the ideal body .
