Protests against Vattenfall’s coal mines – Västerbotten Courier

The current Parliamentary debate on Vattenfall plans to sell its German coal mines led to protests. The demonstrators, who represented several action groups, demands an immediate stop to the sale.

Among other things, Left Party leader Jonas Sjöstedt want the sales to the Czech company EPH stopped and that the carbon remains in the soil. He believes it is the most important climatic Decision Sweden can take.

– If the coal is taken out of the ground and fired up when we destroy the climate, he said.

Sjöstedt stressed that it is the government that has been ruling in his hand.

– this is the most important climate decision this House has ever.
