Two hit by fast train in Markaryd – Västerbotten Courier

Two people have been hit by a SJ3000 train in Markaryd. One of the seriously injured. Both are carried by ambulance to hospital in Ljungby.

They worked with maintenance work on the track when the train came. Swedish Radio Echo report that they tried to throw away but did not have time.

The alarm came at half past twelve at night.

– We arrived at the same time as the first ambulance and we took care of these injured persons, says Juha Luukkanen, team leader at the emergency services in Markaryd, said.

the train was heading from Halmstad to Malmö.

According to echo, a failure of communication have caused the accident.
