A knife gunman was shot early this morning down by police on Eagle Owl street in Söderkulla. He is hurt, but not life-threatening.
According to neighbors found the man in an apartment together with the rest of his family, including several children, when police were forced to intervene.
The alarm came at eight on Thursday morning when the ambulance called to the scene to take care of one or more injured persons. When the paramedics arrived, they felt threatened by the knife gunman and therefore called the police.
– The police first tried to talk to him, says Calle Persson at the police control.
It is not known how the scenario could in this case, or who was injured initalt. The person inside the apartment refused to open the front door for the police. A neighbor tells how he heard the door was forced to ax or crowbar.
– It was shot, there was screaming, there was a lot said another neighbor, to Sydsvenskan reporter on the scene.
– He had locked himself in the apartment, and in connection with this forced the police to shoot for effect, said police spokesperson Maya Forstenius earlier this morning.
According to neighbors, the event has taken place inside of a family of three or four children – the damaged knife man a family member.
– They are ordinary nice people and always greet the stairs, telling a neighbor.

– First I heard the mother’s screams. It was horrible. Then was heard two shots from automatic weapons, I am sure, will continue neighbor.
The decision to firing live ammunition can be taken by any police officer; either because a person is dangerous to himself, to the environment or attack the police.
According to Sydsvenskan reporter on the scene were several children in the family present when the police intervened.
– I had just picked up my bike from the basement when police arrived. There were six police cars, police van and two ambulances, says one of the residents of multi-family housing.
The shooting around 09 o’clock this morning. The apartment is close Söderkulla School. A wounded man was carried off on a stretcher and taken by ambulance to the SUS.
– Initially it was thought that he was life-threatening injured, but it now seems as if the injuries are mild and not life-threatening, according to the hospital’s press officer Anna-Lena Boive.
