One dead in violent apartment fire in Ostersund – Dalarna Newspapers

The alarm came at a quarter to one, the night of Thursday, and pretty soon it was clear that it was a fully developed fire in multi-family property on Vickervägen.

The fire started in an apartment and has since spread to adjacent apartments.

– There must be a strong fire, and right now we are working and emergency services to evacuate the property, says Urban Dahlbäck, duty officer at the police station in Östersund at 01 o’clock.

Emergency Services, ambulance and several police patrols are in place at the multi-family house is on two floors with a total of twelve apartments.

In addition to the deceased person has another two people injured in the fire. They have been taken to hospital with what was described as minor injuries, one with burns to the hand and the other with smoke damage.
