SMHI warns of rain – and forest fires – Aftonbladet

Hard lightning and rainstorms have pulled out of parts of Sweden.

Offer of both big torrential rain and warnings of heavy rainfall have been issued by SMHI.

Mellerud already have problems struck – the water is hard hit by the lightning bolts.

– the thunder can be very intense, says Sandra Andersson, meteorologist at SMHI – which also warns of forest fires.

There is a risk of such large amounts of rain that can cause flooding in the basement, storm water systems and small streams, writes SMHI on its website.

Local Residents urged to conserve water when the municipality’s two water works turned out by the thunder.

– We have had a very strong thunderstorm here. We have gone out and asked residents to be very frugal with water until it is resolved, said Lars Nilsson, Information Mellerud.
