Christians criticize refugee policy

The Swedish Christian Council is strongly critical of the stricter migration policy that is expected to hammer in by June.
Everyone has the right to seek asylum and have their reasons tried, but today restricts Sweden and several other European countries this opportunity, writes the Council in a debate article in the Swedish newspaper Svenska Dagbladet. “The bill contributes to a disturbing trend of Swedish asylum and refugee policy,” they say.
The Council also considered that it is inhumane to introduce temporary residence permits because it will increase insecurity for already vulnerable and traumatized people.
“we also need to accommodate more people in the long run to maintain the social system that we have created for everyone’s Welfare,” writes the Council which consists of 26 member churches.
