Police Jan-Olof Andersson has long followed Black Brandt and also served as his guardian.

Now, he says Lars-Inge Black Brandt’s future plans:

Jan-Olof Andersson has for years been a policeman in Gävle and have long known Black Brandt. Andersson and Black Brandt got to know each other in 2002 and has since kept in touch. Most through telephone contact, but sometimes they were seen to have lunch.

– Well I had no profits to be with him in any way, but I think we had a good contact.

– We planned to meet in a few weeks. He had made a lecture in Borlänge and the idea was that he would come to Gävle, and then he wanted me to be involved and be there.

Can you say that he was going to start on a new track ?

– Yes, you can absolutely say. He had great plans for it and it was something deep down he wanted all the time, but it always came småhinder in the way, and then it was not good.

The idea was that he would tell me about his childhood, the time in prison, himself and his life.

– They liked to listen to him because he was captivating and capable of telling, he says.

When Jan-Olof Andersson worked as a supervisor for Lars-Inge Svartenbrandt, which last year changed its name to Lars Carlandersplatsen, he would be sure to go and have lunch with him every now and then. He has nothing bad to say about Black Brandt but points out that he “never bought his works.”

– He was nice and funny, but I know that there was evil in him as he showed when he did crime. It was usually in connection with his taking alcohol or drugs. But he never showed against us at the police, he said.

How does it feel now?

– It feels very boring. We had decided that we would soon be seen and spoken by some easy like old friends. We had no “hard feelings” against each other.
