Extensive damage after hotel fire in Vaxholm – Sveriges Radio

We still have staff guarding and they remain in the morning hours also for safety. But now the fire is completely extinguished, says Jonas Fröjmark, management supervisor at Stockholm’s rescue, said.

The fire started on the hotel’s terrace and the hotel and the restaurant was evacuated. It took a while before the emergency services had the fire under control.

The property’s conference is reported to have extensive damage but the hotel section is intact. Police have now sealed off the hotel waiting for the technical examination. No one has come to physical harm in the blaze.

Waxholms hotel was built in 1856 , but burned down in 1891. The house was built in 1903 up again.
