Left blows the budget battle over tax evasion – Aftonbladet

After the Panama leak, the government has put forward a series of measures to counter tax evasion.

But the Left requires making more.

– To prevent tax evasion will be one of the most important issues for us in the autumn budget negotiations, said Daniel Sestrajcic, tax policy spokesperson (V).

in today presented the Finance Minister Magdalena Andersson ( S) ten steps the government is taking to counter so-called tax evasion. The issue has been highly acclaimed by Panama leak, which among other things showed how world leaders, sports stars and drug lords are hiding billions of crowns in tax havens – by a law firm in Panama.

Among the government’s measures include a requirement for greater global transparency and information exchange , a strengthening of the Swedish tax Agency’s resources and information required for tax consultants.

– a good tax system where everyone does the right thing is a prerequisite for the Swedish model. Tax evasion and tax avoidance mean very high costs for the countries of the world, says Magdalena Andersson in a statement.

The left will push the issue hard

Many of the proposals included in the government’s spring budget that you negotiated with The Left. But V will go even further and is now launching its own program against tax evasion. Tomorrow has furthermore initiated a timely debate on the issue in Parliament.

– It is absolutely crucial that we do more if we are to tackle the problem of tax evasion and aggressive tax planning. It drains both Sweden and many other countries on important resources for welfare, says tax policy spokesperson Daniel Sestrajcic.

He continues:

– A society where elites and the super-rich can occupy themselves with the this type of tax exemption means that trust in society decreases beyond that we lose vast resources. It is felt that there is a dodging elite who can shoe themselves at others’ expense, he said.

Sestrajcic says that government action is fundamentally good.

– It is good that they interest in the issues. We have experienced that it’s been a lot of talk for a long time. In today show the government that you have some suggestions, but I think it is missing several key elements, he said.

Even now flagging the Left that the issue of preventing tax evasion will be one of the most important of the lot in the autumn budget negotiations with the government.

– There are several things they can lift from our program of government work. We will pursue the negotiations. This is one of the most important issues we will continue to develop both the Swedish model and our welfare society, says Sestrajcic.

“It needed to grasp the question”

IV: programs, consisting of eleven points, Sestrajcic want above all to emphasize that one would like it to be added to a parliamentary granskningskommisson. It needs to look over the damage that tax evasion caused and make suggestions on what needs to be done.

Sestrajcic also highlights the importance of “difficult and impossible to make” tax evasion.

– Where to play including our banks, tax consultants, advisors and accountancy firms a big role. What we can do is more than what we have received so far through in the negotiations, including that one should investigate how tax consultants should be forced to announce the new set-up that you do. It is a key to access the advisors. One thing we want to see that a notification requirement is introduced for suspected tax evasion.

– We also need the ability to make letterbox illegal. Where the government needs to do more.
