Water leaks stopped operations at Östersund Hospital – Sveriges Radio

The hospital still has water but the risk is that the water supply may disappear. Crisis management at Östersund Hospital is enabled.

– We always expect the worst scenario. We can come to a position where we have no water here. Then we’ll be able to have reserves of water in the form of fresh water in the cans. We are also being set up so that we can take seawater, says Björn Eriksson, Regional Director.

The cause of the water leak is a severed water on Bangårdsgatan in Östersund. The whole city has been hit. The management of excavated during the construction of a viaduct.

Right now the central Östersund without water. The water has been turned off in order to repair a severed line.

It is now unclear exactly how many households are affected, says Östersund municipality’s wastewater manager Kolbjörn Ryden.

There are a water reservoir, but it is not forever so Östersund municipality invites all east healthier to be frugal with water so that it is enough to key activities such as the hospital.
