A gas line was cut by mistake in a residential area of Skåne Åkarp Wednesday morning.
Because of the gas leak was incarcerated a larger area and accommodation nearby were evacuated.
At 10:30 pm the leak was sealed and cordon could later lifted.
The alarm about the leak in the villa area in Åkarp, Burlöv, was added shortly after at 09 on Wednesday morning.
gas leak described as comprehensive of police and emergency services, and it was expected that the project will be extended.
– We have a gas release in the open, then a line with a pressure of four bar has gone by. Police have cordoned off the area and we are evacuating the five nearest dwellings. There is a risk of ignition and we are in place with the readiness to deal extinction, says Daniel Branch, internal officers at the emergency services in Skåne.
After the leak started the energy company Eon its efforts to shut down the flow of gas in the area.
– It is a simple measure which we simply twist the taps in front of and behind the leak. Because it is natural gas, which is lighter than air, rises in the gas leakage. I can not say how large amounts that have been leaked but it is not particularly high, printed in line, says Johan Aspegren on Eon’s press office.
At 10:20 said emergency services in Skåne that the gas flow was stopped and residents within 200 meters no longer needed to stay indoors. After a check could cordon lifted.
Police in Skåne state that the pipeline was cut accidentally during work.
