Scientists warn: These lights give you a headache – Metro

More and more people are using LED lights, but experts are worried about the invisible flicker in the poorly constructed lamps, writes Dagens Nyheter.

Light-emitting diodes, known as LED lights, is a popular replacement for the incandescent lamp. The problem, according to researchers, is that the technology is not fully developed yet.

50 -number products have been examined at Lund University. Several of the lights causes a flicker that can not be seen with the eye, but as the brain and retina perceive. It can cause headaches, concentration problems and eye

problems.

Work Environment Authority fears that more people will experience the symptoms and the Energy Agency opens to tighten regulations.

– The legislation is intended to ensure that the bad products disappear, says Peter Bennich of the Swedish Energy Agency to DN.
