AIDA HADZIALIC (S) was driving with alcohol in the blood – and was taken by police for drunk driving.

Now she departs as secondary and education initiative minister.

– I want to take responsibility for what I have done, she said.

– After the concert, I chose to take the car home to Malmo, of course, in the belief that I was not affected. There and then I committed my life’s biggest mistake.

– It was the first time I was driving drunk. First and last.

AIDA HADZIALIC took the decision to resign last night, after reasoning with Prime Minister Stefan Löfven.

Stefan Löfven has commented on the decision in a press release.

– I agree with her assessment of the seriousness of the situation. But it is neither the first nor the last time that a good man doing a bad thing and I’m sad to lose a valued colleague and a successful minister, says Löfven.

Helene Hellmark Knutsson (S), Minister of higher education, will take over temporarily Hadzialics duties in the government.
