Improvement of drinking water in Skane – Västerbotten Courier

It is still not clear how the tap water in northwest Skåne contaminated with intestinal bacteria. But at least in Helsingborg seen an improvement.

“All samples taken in Helsingborg pipeline looks good and is free from bacteria. The responses from the samples that are taken in the wiring against Höganäs Municipality shows still a presence of bacteria, “writes Northwest Skåne Water and Sewage (NSVA) in a press release on Wednesday night.

The sample results are preliminary and must be checked again. The affected parts of Helsingborg and the entire Höganäs Municipality advised to continue boiling their drinking water and water for cooking.

Answer to the next test series comes late on Thursday night. Two positive test results in a row is required before you can start drinking the water as usual.

It was on Monday that intestinal bacteria were detected in the drinking water. The lines have been flushed and chlorination was carried out in a water tower. In Helsingborg is the central and northern areas affected.
