Car drove into the canal in Malmö: Deep in the mud – Aftonbladet

A car has been driving at 17 o’clock on down the canal near Queen Square in central Malmö.

In the car was a man in his 50s as divers took up from the water.

Late Friday evening, police announced that the man’s life not been saved.

According to police, a person rescued from car and taken to hospital with unknown injuries.

– the divers have picked up one person but we will lift the vehicle out of the mud with the crane truck to see if there are more people in, says Paul Bjurehag at the emergency services.

– The man’s life could not be saved, says Anna Göransson at Skåne police.

The car must have driven down the canal at the height of Queen Square at 17 o’clock, according to Sydsvenskan.

at 18:45 the rescue services said that the vehicle had been recovered and that they found no signs of additional people have been in the car as it drove down the canal and fell in the mud. Paul Bjurehag also state that their effort is thus completed.

– Our divers have searched the area and we have salvaged vehicle without finding any more, says Paul Bjurehag.

The cause of the accident is not known . Anna Göransson, at Skåne police, state that the car is taken in the seizure of a technical study.
