The new rating scale shaking Moderates – Aftonbladet

The political scientists are now talking about a new dimension in Swedish politics – the so-called Gal / Tan-scale – which cuts across the Alliance.

At the same time every three moderate voters now cooperate with the Sweden Democrats.

in the evening SVT’s Agenda pressed Anna Kinberg Batra (M) of the changing political landscape.

– it’s not that we look at other parties when we develop policy, says Conservative leader to TV host Anna Hedenmo.

Swedish politics has traditionally been seen from a left-right scale. But political scientists are now talking about Gal / Tan Scale, which describes a new dimension where voters care more and more about values.

– This dividing line is not about redistribution, but about the social and cultural values, says political scientist Henrik Ekengren Oscarsson in Sunday evening’s season premiere of SVT’s Agenda.

Vegan against speedway

in the top of the scale are collected green, alternative and liberal globalists (GAL), while traditionalist conservative, authoritarian and nationalists (TAN) stand as opposites.

There are green and liberals, vegans and Pride participants at one end and conservatives and nationalists engaged in speedway and rural areas in the second, expemplifierar political scientist to describe a society where voter groups live in different worlds.

While some see the increased globalization and multiculturalism as something positive regard others with societal concerns and as a major threat, according Ekengren Oscarsson.

Most notably, reported the change to be of the Moderate Party, which pushed the voter exodus is described as a party that increasingly moves toward the conservative and nationalistic direction.

The leader Anna Kinberg Batra was during the evening in place Agendas in the studio and answered questions about the new political landscape.

– Interesting to show valuation trend. It is true that there are new challenges for Sweden and a major concern in the world, says Anna Kinberg Batra, then turn solid:

– It’s not that we look at other parties when developing policy, it is based on what Sweden needs to do. Both to cope with the refugee crisis, to take care of a huge exclusion and reverse the trend in the Swedish school system.

“They blame Sweden’s problems on immigration”

The Moderates have attracted attention because they like the Sweden Democrats among other things, would limit the welfare of newcomers and introduce a begging ban, but the party leader believes that there are fundamental differences between the parties that makes her not want to cooperate with the Sweden Democrats.

– They blame Sweden’s problems on immigration, whips up a concern and that is why a partnership is not up to date, says Anna Kinberg Batra.

Sweden Democrats party leader Jimmie Åkesson has on several previous occasions reached out a hand to the Conservatives. In his sommartal in Sölvesborg Saturday Akesson said that he wants to form a government with the Christian Democrats and the Conservatives. This despite the fact that both parties have given the party the cold shoulder.

– I do not expect that they say Jippie. I expect rather that if they do not get a majority next election so it is reasonable that they stop sandlådementaliteten and start talking to us, said SD leader.

And in SVT’s Agenda repeated Anna Kindberg Batra again that the Conservatives do not want to sit in a future government with the Sweden Democrats.

– no. The reason I do not want to cooperate with the Sweden Democrats politically.

On the question of SD is a racist party said Conservative leader:

– Yes, they blame the UK’s problems on immigration. Then it’s racist, then down to the groups against each other and put labels on other people.

Valuation scale threatens splinter Alliance

Meanwhile, most voters still in the middle, both seen Gal / Tan-scale and the traditional left-right scale.

Henry Ekengren Oscarsson says the Agenda that he sees a potentially strong electoral base for new collaborations between the center parties – which would divide the Alliance and instead open up for cooperation between eg S, MP, C and L, which are all placed in the middle of both scales.

When Anna Kinberg Batra on Sunday evening pressured by Agendas host Anna Hedenmo she repeated several times, as in previous occasions, that she believes that the best way to map out the future of Sweden made with alliance parties.

– I hope they (the Sweden Democrats) get as little influence as possible and that the Alliance get as much influence as possible.
