The chairman Karl-Petter Thorwaldsson first majtalar year in Landskrona and Malmö. At a press conference in Landskrona he presented LO’s demands.
– We demand that there will more money into our future pensions. When we did the pension agreement gave the pension about 70% of the previous salary. Now it has gone down to 60% and could go down to 50%. Our demand that by 2028, all future pensioners get 70% of their former salary, says Thorwaldsson.
What is the solution then?
– Easy ; to pay more money for our pensions. Then it interacts with how many people will work and how we manage welfare, but it is no more difficult than this: we must invest more in our seniors if they get higher pensions in the future. The new system has become too tight, it is not enough.
You say it is taboo to talk about this, but you do it anyway?
– Pension agreement made by parties on both sides of the block boundaries. And that’s good, LO supports the making of changes in the interaction between the government parties and the opposition, but it has long been taboo to talk about this, because you’ll be so consistent. But, now we get poor pensioners and then we LO no longer be silent, there must be more money in the system.
Did you bring the government on this?
– no I have not, but eventually we will make sure that affect both them and the bourgeois parties, says Karl-Petter Thorwaldsson.
