Soldiers of Odin would patrol in Boras – Sveriges Radio

The street patrol group Soldiers of Odin has in recent days offered their services to Hemgårdens adult hikers and to the municipal field group. According to Boras newspaper, they have also been in contact with the police.

Soldiers of Odin say they want to patrol to provide security. But the anti-racist foundation Expo is believed it will be the other way around because the group has strong links to the right extreme environments with racist views. Jonathan Leman at Expo:

– They see themselves as soldiers to protect people from immigrant. They have a process and rhetoric which risks increasing tensions in the community.

But they believe that they will increase security?

– this is a type of activity that is linked to Nazism and violent right-wing extremism, so it is more likely to create tensions and problems.

network Soldiers of Odin in several places in the country, Stockholm, Gothenburg, Dalarna, Halland and now Sjuhärad . The organization Soldiers of Odin comes from Finland where the founder’s Nazi Mika Ranta.

But the group in Sweden would be a group of Nazi clutches want Mikael Johansson, a spokesman for the Soldiers of Odin in Sweden do not agree with. He says to P4 Dalarna that he believes that the Expo spreads a false picture.

– It is totally misleading and outright lying from the Expo site.

– But the network was founded in Finland of a known Nazi, is not there a strong connection to right-wing extremism?

– There must be for them, it has to the Finnish side to do, says Mikael Johansson. He believes that there are no Nazi or extreme right-wing connections at all to the Swedish organization.

– But you would have been in National Democrats, not true then?

– it was I as a private person 6 years ago so have nothing to Soldiers of Odin to do.
