A snowmobile driver has been found dead in Jokkmokk.
Mountain Rescue searched for the man, but on Sunday he was found dead in a hole.
the man, who was 55 years old, disappeared after driving scooter from Porjus Jokkmokk municipality. During the trip, he had telephone contact with a friend who went to meet him, but after 20 o’clock last night, there was silence from the man.
– It’s bad with phone coverage up there but friends had managed to get hold of him when he was about halfway. They had stopped to wait for him, said Catrin Hedqvist, duty officer at the police in Norrbotten, to nsd.se tonight.
When the friends had not heard from him for over an hour they called for help. The police searched for the missing helicopter and mountain rescue with scooters.
But just before the 17 police announced on its website that the man found dead in a hole in the lake Saltoluokta. Relatives are informed.
