Bat cloak Lattjo revoked immediately by Ikea because of a risk of strangulation and injuries neck, write furniture giant in a press release.
– Since we have taken part of customer reports we have done studies showing that the fastener on the Cape do not emit enough light from the neck. We recall the product as an immediate precautionary measure, and we will also improve future products and thus the safety of children by setting new requirements, said Cindy Andersen, Director for Children’s IKEA, in a press release.
Furniture Giant urges customers to immediately stop use the cloak and the returns goods to Ikea.
– Security is a top priority for IKEA and all our products are tested to comply with the laws and standards worldwide. We have zero tolerance for products which risk the safety of children, says Cindy Andersen, Director for Children’s IKEA, IKEA of Sweden.
So far, three children have had scratches on the neck by using the cloak because it is stuck or not enough light has been loosened, says Ikea. The damage should not have been so serious that any child has needed medical care.
The company offers the full payment back to customers who return the product. Receipts are not required.
