Government: Let employers pay for long-term sick – Business World

The Government proposes that the country’s employers to help pay the costs of long-term sick, according to the Daily News.

Under the proposal, employers account for 25 per cent of the compensation for 90 days’ sick leave , which is expected to reduce state spending for health insurance by between 2.2 and 4.4 billion per year.

In compensation, a general reduction in employer about 0.16 percentage implemented, which means that the reform would be neutral for the treasury.

Social Security Minister Annika Strandhäll will present the government’s proposal in its entirety at a press conference today at 9.30, according to a press release from the government.
