Robotic Lawn Mower harm hedgehogs – Västerbotten Courier

The District Veterinarians in Mora whistleblowers if they get into more and more hedgehogs damaged by the robotic lawnmower, writes Dalarna Newspapers. Mowers that goes by itself is usually during the night in the gardens of private individuals.

– The most common injury we see hedgehogs is that they be scalped. The knives hits just above the eyes, and then smokes the whole skin, some tags, no eye or ear, one cheek. Some hedgehogs can we rehabilitate, but some have such extensive damage that we shall kill them directly, says Susanne Johansson, animal keeper at the District Veterinarians in Mora.

Johansson now appealing to individuals to turn off their robotic mowers under night, when it is the time of day when hedgehogs are most active.
