News Ikea calls immediately those who have children gate Patrol to stop using it. Incidents have occurred when the door unexpectedly opened and children have fallen down stairs – and some have been hurt so badly that it required hospitalization, according to the furniture giant.
It was on Thursday morning as the Swedish furniture giant issued a press release on Patrol baby gates. Customers such urged to immediately stop using it and return it to any department store. The reason is that the child has fallen down the stairs and hurt themselves, something that Ikea has received several reports.
– IKEA has zero tolerance for products which risk the safety of children. We want to provide safe and healthy products, and we think that children are the world’s most important people, says Mary Thorn, Acting Business Area Manager at Children’s IKEA in the press release.
External tests have shown that the locking mechanism on patrol, though the former must have passed the tests are not completely reliable, writes Ikea.
