The postcard is not quite there – Aftonbladet

Post. Although it is popular to send holiday greetings via sMS, email and social media live the classic postcard still as a holiday greeting, a survey of PostNord.

“Sunny greetings from Öland”. The sky is blue and the image jostle happy bathers.

The classic postcard is not completely out. According to a survey by the company PostNord plan, 44 percent of Swedes to add one or more cards in the mailbox this summer. Popular’s greetings to friends and family while five percent send short even to their colleagues. Only one percent send postcards to their manager.

Neither the younger is opposed to the physical card. Just over a quarter aged 15-29 plan to send one.

– In a time of much digital noise I think it will be a revival of physical mail. It shows that someone has put extra time and been personal, says Per Ljungberg, Head of Communications at PostNord.

But the number of cards sent has also decreased sharply, from 28 million years, 2013 to 22 million this year.

Per Ljungberg strikes instead a kind of apps where you can make a postcard of a picture taken with a mobile phone. The card lands since the regular mail in the mailbox.

Does this mean more selfies on the postcards come?

– Yes, maybe. Or a picture of where you sunbathe or bathe for that matter. Corresponding to a classic Facebook update.
