– We urge everyone to remain vigilant and report suspicious incidents, says William Young at Security Service.
They pretend to be diplomats, journalists, businessmen and raises considerably less attention than violations of Swedish airspace and suspected submarines. In fact, many of them Russian intelligence officers who collect information such as Swedish defense, politics, economics and technology.
– Roughly every third Russian diplomat is an intelligence officer, says William Young, counter-espionage chief analyst at Security Service ( SAPO), when its annual report for 2014 presented.
Young describes them as educated, younger than during the Soviet era, socially competent and networking.
Last year broke SAPO several Russian attempts to acquire Swedish technologies to strengthen the Russian armed forces. It is also known that the military intelligence GRU, among other things, trying to make hacking.
The illegal intelligence activities are described as well-coordinated and controlled from the highest level.

Andreas Häglund, Sales Manager at IT security Advenica, find it interesting that SAPO clearly points out the GRU which according to him is one of the most qualified players in the world with great resources in terms of money, expertise and time.
Häglund is critical to the Swedish readiness which he believes is due to unclear responsibilities of the Swedish government.
