The proposals that will save local journalism – Today’s Media

The technology-heap measurement and extended operating aid. These are some of the Government’s proposed changes to the press subsidies.

Today the Government presents, as previously promised, a bill on press subsidies. In Dagens Nyheter writes Culture and Democracy Minister Alice Bah Kunhke on the proposal that will save local journalism.

“We could have a blind spots on the media map where the complete absence of a scrutinizing local newspaper. It is not possible to describe otherwise than as a serious threat to democracy when journalists reporting on reality far outskirts of Stockholm loses the ability to perform his job “, she writes, among other things.
