Students go to school closed today – Swedish Radio

Students go to school closed today – Swedish Radio

There will be no tuition for high school students at Varner Ryden school today. Nevertheless, all students attend for information. Many are disappointed and angry.

Azize Hava Kama and Eljesa Bajrami going in eighth grade and ninth grade at Varner Ryden School is disappointed and angry:

– If the school closes, it is bad for the eights and nines, for it is we who are at the end of school.

– It is very unfair to the school shut down because of them. We do not deserve it because we have not done anything. There are those who have messed up.

It was last Friday that safety representatives took the decision to close the school from Monday, says Catharina Niwhede, which is as district Teachers’ Federation of Malmö.

– The safety of pupils at the school can not be guaranteed. Pupils behave in the classroom but out on the breaks and the break area so it is very unsettled and very conflicts.

It is not the first time Varner Ryden School in Rosengård have problems maintaining Procedure. As recently as last fall, it was so messy at the school that additional resources were and primary school director Anders Malmqvist thought this solved the problem.

– We had a safety committee meeting in October about the situation and then we put a number of measures. Our assessment has been that the situation has stabilized, but that this incident occurred last Friday, which went out of control, and thus this shutdown. So now we will see over these efforts again.

Catharina Niwhede , District of Teachers National Association believes that the merger with another school in the area, which led to too many students transferred to Varner Ryden School is a cause of the fracas at school.

In the morning gather school teachers, along with representatives of, among other things Arbetsmiljöverket, social services and municipal security officers in Malmö to congregate.

– The objective of Monday is for us to work out measures that will allow our staff and our students can feel safe, so we can start up operations again on Tuesday. It is our goal.

But even if additional battery action is taken on Varner Ryden school so that pupils and teachers of physical security, so consider Catharina Niwhede the educational environment at the school is not the best.

– No, it’s not. It’s really not a good learning environment. We look after all also what problems we have with goal achievement in the schools in the area.

But if it is bad educational environment so you could not really solve it with guards?

No, it can not. You have to do something else. But emergency one can always do it in some way so that students can come to school anyway.
