It was October 8 last year that Daniel Sestrajcic participated in a protest outside the Swedish Migration Board in Malmö.
There were stateless Palestinians camped for weeks in protest that they do not get a residence permit in Sweden, while Iraq, which Sweden wants to reject them, not receive them.
the police would evict the camp.
According to the prosecution prevented Daniel Sestrajcic police, including by putting on a sheet which the police would take away – which led to a policeman picked him off.
He should not have followed the call from the police to move away or leave the place.
According to the prosecutor’s Description questioned, he also police work and tried to get past a police chain.
At one point, he was pushed off by a policeman. After the incident reported to the police Sestrajcic for violent resistance and even to have been guilty of violence against a police officer.
But it has not been proved and the allegations were dropped by prosecutors Maria Sterup of the Special Prosecution Office in Malmö.
However, she prosecutes Sestrajcic for disobedience to police. The penalty for it is time fine or a maximum of six months in prison.
But Daniel Sestrajcic says the allegations are not true.
– What is described in the indictment and that is not true is that I should have been told to remove me from the place and not be there. But that has not happened on a single occasion. It is also what constitutes disobedience to law and order, not that they are on the site, not to peacefully protest, not even that you sit down on the ground and make a peaceful protest. I have been following all the commandments which the police have given to me, he says.
Daniel Sestrajcic was the former chairman of the Left Party in Malmo.
