Crime. The police are on their way to unravel in a European theft tangle where a few hundred lorries transported to the former Soviet republics, according echo. 30-40 of the vehicles should have been stolen in southern Sweden. Several people in remand in absentia in Sweden, and four people have been arrested in France.
– You steal them and then you drive them out right immediately after. They use couriers, therefore drivers who get paid to drive them out, says Håkan Carlsson, head of the national police transport safety group, to echo.
The lorries and trucks stolen in Sweden are new and primarily of Volvo brand. The value is several million per truck.
If the police’s suspicions true, the league have earned hundreds of millions of dollars on the thefts.
