New trial on the murder of eight-year-old in Sweden – Hufvudstadsbladet

New trial on the murder of eight-year-old in Sweden – Hufvudstadsbladet

Both the prosecutor and the two convicted appeals the judgment of the murder of eight-year-old Yara Alnajjar in Karlskrona. The case will then be reviewed again, this time by the Court of Appeal for Skåne and Blekinge.

Chief prosecutor Pernilla Åström believes that although the accused man, the girl’s uncle, should be convicted of murder. The district court sentenced him instead to six years in prison for extremely aggravated assault and aggravated manslaughter. The prosecutor suggests that the events took place in a small space in a responsive apartment and that the man was in the apartment during the lengthy process.
Man himself wants the indictment should be dismissed entirely.
The woman, who was sentenced to life in prison for murder, also wants the judgment reconsidered. Her lawyer requires, among other things, that the National Board legal counsel should be consulted on at what time the girl got her injuries and when she died.
