Titti Qvarnström, 35, köksmäsatre at Bloom in the Park in Malmö is the woman in Sweden to get a Michelin star.
– Finally! It’s really great – while terribly sad that 2015 could be the first woman, though it is fun to be first, too, she says
She believes himself know when the secret inspectors visited the restaurant – which of course got all the staff on their toes at the time.
– It is clear that you check everything one more time then, but at the same time, this is what we do forever. All guests should have the same experience, says Titti Qvarnström.
Last spring, she became the top five in the “Chefs” in Channel 5th
And now Titti Qvarnström, five years chef at Bloom in the Park, received its first Michelin star.
– This is a step in my life, a tiara which I’m very proud of, she says.
Sweeps track
Some reasons are never given, but Titti Qvarnström think they know:
– I think we got it because we deliver an exceptional dining experience, beyond the ordinary.
That it has taken so long for female chef in Sweden to get a Michelin star thinks she’s weird.
– It is very strange. But we are very few women in the tavern kitchen – and very, very few who are chefs at this level. Yet it is as many women as men training to be chefs, says Titti Qvarnström.
Now, she hopes understood that more women will follow in her footsteps.
– Yes, I hope I can sweep path and inspire other young women to also break into this market.
A quick glass of champagne, it was when the news came – otherwise it’s just working on as usual.
– Now I’m a little stjärnrusig, but it’s important and highest priority is to develop as a restaurant and finding the perfect raw material, find the perfect dishes and create the perfect combination. And deliver that experience to the guests.
– But it is clear – tomorrow it more fun to go to work than it was yesterday.
