One star or two – it means so very much for the restaurant that aspires to belong to the top tier in gastronomy. On Thursday, announces the Michelin Guide which taverns receiving this year’s coveted stars.
– For those who have a star restaurant and looking stars, it is how important any time to get one! It means a lot to market themselves, says Tom Sjöstedt, restaurateur and winner of the Chef of the Year in 2008.
Though the star does not automatically make a lot of bullets. It is expensive to run fine restaurant, and it’s hard to get top restaurants to go around. Usually you need generous funders or other concepts that props up he explains. Self hear he’s not the crowd that wants to host the stars. His tavern is a simple restaurant of kvarterstyp, and star power is not up to date, he believes. But for those who have already received their stars, this is a nervous day.
– Losing a star would be a disaster. Then you must have done something woefully wrong, he says.
Now, he thinks that Michelin should sprinkle more stars over the country.
– I hope at Malmö. And they unleash, it’s crappy to just the big cities are included. There are at least four restaurants around the country that would merit stars, said Tom Sjöstedt.
