A major house fire broke out in Kolsva, outside Koping, on Friday afternoon.
Two people were picked out of the flames – but their lives could not be saved.
– There was nothing we could do, says Per Svanström, team leader of the Western Mälardalen emergency services.
The fire started just before the 13th
The villa övertändes quickly. After an hour emergency services had given up hope of extinguishing the fire.
– We released the house quite easily. There was nothing for us to do, says Per Svanström, team leader of the Western Mälardalen emergency services.
According Bärgslagsbladet struck several meters high flames out of the building. At the same time said to loud bangs have been heard from the fire.
Two people dead
Two people died in the rapid fire. They are not yet identified.
– Luckily we managed to get the two persons before the villa burned down. They were then already deceased, says Per Svanström.
The rescue services were in place at 18:30 o’clock to monitor the site while the villa is burning to the ground.
– It glows still a bit in the ground . Right now it’s only the chimney remains, says Per Svanström.
Investigates arson
The cause of the fire is still unknown. Police have cordoned off the site and an investigation into the arson is started.
– We will make a technical inquiry on the spot eventually. So far it’s just too hot, says Maria Rupla at Västmanland police länskommunikationscentral.
