Police have cordoned off an area of Ynglingagatan VASASTAN in central Stockholm since the emergence of a sinkhole in the street. The hole is said to be two times three meters wide and around one and a half meters deep.

The hole is believed to have been caused by a water leak. Staff from the Stockholm Water and Svevia are in place to assess the damage. The water will be shut off during the repair work, but it is impossible to say how long.

If it is turned off for a longer time, we will put up a tap, says Agneta Jönsson, communications manager at the Stockholm Water.
