It has happened in Denmark has been the Swedish security police to consider how the threat looks like in Sweden, says deputy SAPO manager Johan Sjöö.
– The first step is of course to analyze the situation, what is it that has happened. And then explore whether there is any connection to Sweden, there is no reason to take any action in Sweden.
Do you have sharpened your readiness in Sweden in any way?
– No, I can not say. It is too early to say that. We know not yet really all about the motives and so on in the Danish investigation. But we leave the current threat assessments to the Swedish police who in turn then possibly take action.
John Sjöö notes to late autumn of 2010, so there is a heightened terrorist threat in Sweden but it has happened Copenhagen has so far not received SAPO to raise the threat level.
– We look naturally on the assembly. We see a reason to raise it so we will do it. But so far we have not seen any such reason.
If this can happen in Denmark, it may well happen in Sweden too?
– There is no one who can give no assurance that it can not happen in Sweden. Moreover, it has happened in the Sweden. We have had a suicide attack, and we have suspended an attack that was directed against Denmark. It can happen again.
An offender who acts on your own as perhaps was the case in Denmark is something that is an extra challenge to the security police, says Johan Sjöö.
– What we do is that in our intelligence trying to find these offenders before the attacks take place, in order to avert before it happens. Of course it is particularly difficult with a single action man, says assistant manager Johan SAPO Sjöö.
