Police fired warning shots during the car chase – Swedish Radio

In order to stop a suspected drunk motorist arose a car chase where the police fired several warning shots.

It was 19:52 o’clock the alarm came in to police about car where the driver is suspected of driving drunk at Spånga squares. When police shortly after 20 o’clock arrived at the scene and tried to put a stop to it, refused the driver to stop.

– The car started running straight towards reaching, and then took a decision to quickly stop the rig, says Albin Birch bark Mountains, at the Stockholm police communications center.

At Bällstavägen in Spånga managed the police to stop the car by driving into the side of it, and ram it aside.

When it fired several warning shots by one or more police officers.

– The purpose was to stop the rig and warning shots used of course to avoid having to resort to stronger agents.

The driver was arrested and is now suspected attempted murder and drug driving. Two other passengers are taken for questioning.

According Albin Birch bark Mountains, the police are now investigating both what happened on the site and the police gunfire.

No person shall have been harmed. Now, a technical study done on the spot.

– We have high hopes of being able to find out exactly what happened, the police had helicopters in the air near that should have a good idea of what has happened.
