Big problems with dangerous electrical products – Helsingborgs Dagblad

According to Thomas Nilson, Inspector at Electrical Safety Board, deficiencies often the design of electrical products during manufacturing. It is common that the cables are not secured correctly or that it is too small distance between them, which can lead to electric shocks when you pull them out of the connector. Another common problem is products without Swedish plug.

At this time there were a charger from proove International AB.

– We are constantly finding products that it is wrong. Very imported from China and there are many things you need to know as an importer and seller, and not everyone has the protocols needed, says Thomas Nilson.

Last year tested Elsäkerhetsverket 400 products of which 29 percent were coated with sales ban. Just charger from proove International is dangerous and lacking proper labeling. Its internal conductors are soldered directly onto the circuit board and come loose. This means that leaders can access, for example the USB port. But the product is not recalled.

– We have different gradations of how dangerous the products are and how much risk there is that accidents happen. It can be even more serious than this, says Thomas Nilson.
