It is still unclear who will succeed Göran Hägglund as leader of the Christian Democrats. Local Society in Sigtuna thought to have its candidate finished when the weekend nominated Lars Adaktusson to the post – but the former television profile chooses not to be a candidate.
– There has been a lot of thinking back and forth. I am available for assignments in the party and the Bureau. But on the other hand, I will not stand for election as party leader, he says to DN.
It was only two years ago Adaktusson put journalism on the shelf and became a politician, but his cross was collected in the EU Parliament for just under a year ago . It is still too short to aspire to a party leadership post, he says:
– I have a limited party political experience. I have not the broad expertise when it comes sakpolitiken I think one needs to have as party leader.
In early March gathered Christian Democrats from all districts to question the candidates who sets up. So far, however, none have. Ebba Busch Thor, Mayor of Uppsala, has been nominated by the local association there, but awaits the answer.
Other names mentioned are the party secretary Acko Ankarberg Johansson, group leader in parliament, Emma Henriksson, the housing policy spokesperson Caroline Szyber, David Lega , Mayor of Gothenburg and former housing minister Stefan Attefall. The economic-political spokesman James Forssmed will according to DN be Göran Hägglund’s personal favorite.
KD’s various districts may nominate candidates until February 25, what Nomination Chatrine Pålsson Ahlgren called a “half-open” process. The final selection is made at an extraordinary riksting on 25 April.
