Hotel Scandic Malmö were evacuated on Wednesday evening.
A fire started in the kitchen and shortly thereafter swung open flames out of the building.
– The accelerated very quickly, says Torbjörn Krokström, internal officers at the emergency services.
The fire at the Scandic on Segevången in Malmo broke out at 21:54 on Wednesday. According to the emergency services started in the kitchen and when they arrived, burned it in full on the hotel’s third floor.

All guests, unclear how many were evacuated. No one was hurt, according to police.
Staff knocking on doors
The hotel guest Nicklas Eckerlid, 52, was in his room when the fire alarm went off.
– I took myself out when I heard the alarm. Then were met by staff who ran around and knocked on all the doors for full and shouting at people that they must get out of it seriously. There were many who ignored the alarm, he said.
At 22 o’clock was a large number of hotel guests outside the evacuated building.
– fire is increasing all the time right now. It’s really black smoke that looks up from the roof. It does not feel like the fire department has an eye on this for the moment, says Nicklas Eckerlid.
The fire extinguished
An hour after the fire started burning still in the three floors of the hotel, according to emergency services .
– But we have managed to prevent further spread, says Ulrika Lindmark at the emergency Malmo.
The rescue finally got control over fire, and at 02 o’clock it was completely extinguished. Torbjörn Krokström describes the events as intense.

Guests bus was on Wednesday evening to another hotel to stay there overnight. Police suspect currently not any crime is behind the incident.
