Sweden Many were evacuated when a huge fire raged outside Knivsta on Sunday. In a flashover barn exploded several cylinders, and the risk of explosion led to the closure of the airspace of the fire area. – One of the runways at the airport is closed for takeoff and landing, said Roger Li at CAA.

The fire raged on Sunday on a farm in the area around Östuna. A barn is flashover. The authorities were alerted shortly after 11 o’clock on the fire.

– I know there are several gas cylinders exploded. Emergency services do not dare to go in because the barn is completely in flames. They are concentrating on protecting surrounding buildings. Two diesel tanks are adjacent to the courtyard so these cool you down, says duty officer at Uppsala Police Tommy Karlsson shortly after the alarm.

No people or animals to be physically damaged. It is currently unclear how the fire started, according to police.

The gas cylinders inside the box should contain oxygen, propane and acetylene. CAA had shortly before at 15 o’clock on Sunday established a restricted zone at the fire, which means that aircraft must not fly over the area because of the risk of explosion.

– It also means that one of the runways at the airport is closed for takeoff and landing said Roger Li, PR manager for CAA.

– at the same time, it has developed a weather situation around Arlanda which means that there is a risk of delays of up to half an hour now.

the weather situation in question is about the thunderstorm, according to Li.

– There are three lines at the airport and one is already closed for maintenance, so right now there is only one path available.

the police have evacuated around 15 people in the area.
