“very encouraging”
Fälldin has been a support and a mentor for both herself and other women, says Olofsson .
– I could call him and discuss various issues and he always had good advice to give. And so he stopped often to say “stand on your lass!”.
Fälldin has also meant a lot to the current Center leader Annie Lööf, who late on Saturday night were told that Fälldin fallen asleep.

Nuclear Critics
His great political project was the commitment to the countryside. Fälldin stood for a kind of civilization critical path, says Svenning.
– It was a driving force for his criticism of nuclear power, that it was about to acquire a technique that could wipe out all of humanity . And so this to impoverished rural areas, that it took resources from rural areas and that it disappeared gradually and became poorer – he would be horrified by what has happened in recent years.
Many still remember Fälldin statement 1976 – “no minister post could be so desirable that I am willing to COMPROMISE with my beliefs,” a promise not to charge the new nuclear reactors – which, however, he backed away.
Fälldin was Prime Minister during the submarine crisis in autumn 1981, when a Soviet submarine ran aground in the Karlskrona archipelago.
– Keep the limit! were his definite orders to the commander.
Earlier Moderate leader Ulf Adelsohn, who was sitting in office while Fälldin, remembers his friend:
– He was a lovely and straight person. Many thought he was slow, but none could he in a one-liner to catch a situation or a whole political events.
