53 of substances are banned in the EU today, but 80 percent of the fabrics used in manufactured outside the EU. Which means that it is often not known which chemicals that are actually in the fabrics, according to SR.
Common chemicals in clothing, for example, dyes and Chemicals Agency believes that there is a great ignorance of the problem.
– Most of them are allergenic. It stands out quite well, the kind of chemicals that give allergies’re often dyes, says Karin Thoran at Kemikalieinspektionen to SR.
