Who is fooling whom in the new political landscape? And what is best for grandma?
The Social Democrats’ leader and Prime Minister Stefan Löfven has now taken a big step toward getting the Left to vote for the government’s budget. A settlement of gains in wealth were the V leader Jonas Sjöstedt’s first condition.
– It’s a fine day, said the Left Party, Ulla Andersson at the joint press conference.
– Now you will no longer to enrich themselves at the grandmother’s care.
Are grandmother winner or loser? It depends on how the parliament finally voted – and on what grandma likes gains in welfare.
The settlement means among other things, that the three parties agree that ” there is no room for profit distribution of tax funds to the shareholders. ” In essence, the surplus is reinvested in the business, the exemption applies to “a low interest rate on invested capital.”
What it exactly means to be investigated, but to quantify a cap on the gains have not been social democratic politics until on this deal , and of course it is a success for V.
But the interesting – and that will characterize much of the policies that the new government will present – is that there are the three parties behind the deal that owns question.
In order to achieve a parliamentary majority have to get with it one or more bourgeois parties, or the Sweden Democrats.
And judging by the reactions from the Liberal Party leader Jan Björklund, the conditions for a settlement with the Alliance parties minimal. Bjorklund is especially critical of the bourgeois call it “municipal veto” – the municipalities are allowed to decide whether schools may be established. Bjorklund believes that Löfven now betrays the deal that alliance government did with S and the Green Party in friskolekommittén, and he has previously conditional cooperation with the government of already signed agreements to remain unchanged.
Grandma is important also from FP’s starting point: Björklund says that “grandma’s choice in care of the elderly” is now threatened. Maybe, but here are some potential political winner in the deal:
• Stefan Löfven can get Left Party’s support for the budget, but also expect that Parliament will not pass really crisp rules. He can also hope that the pressure decreases on to make other concessions to V in the budget negotiations – S is already in talks with MP forced to bigger increases in income tax than the party had promised and the Left wants to go even further.
• Jonas Sjöstedt can point to a successful negotiation of the party’s main election issue. And also poisoned the climate of cooperation between the government and the bourgeois.
• Sweden Democrats leader Jimmie Åkesson can determine one of the most overheated issues in Swedish politics. If the bourgeois closes the door, it’s only SD can vote for a bill that is similar to what the government and V presented on Monday.
Will grandma winner or loser? It depends on how the parliament finally voted – and on what grandma likes gains in welfare.
Left Party leader Jonas Sjöstedt, his party colleague Ulla Andersson, Social Democrat leader and Prime Minister Stefan Löfven and Green Party spokesperson and Minister of Education Gustaf Fridolin presented on Monday an agreement on the beneficial interests in prosperity.
