A food inspection at a pizzeria in Halland ended with an unmarked packaging meat found to contain meat from a completely different animal than expected. Both the pizza and the supplier has now prohibited from selling meat, local media reported.

– pizzeria owners were shocked. They thought it was beef they received from the supplier, said food inspector in the municipality to SVT Halland New.

It is not the first time that meat from water buffalo marketed under a false name. Last spring, for example, discovered a similar case in Östergötland.
