Witness: He said he was shot in the chest – Aftonbladet

Early Sunday morning, police received an alarm if a person has been shot in Åkersberga.

So far no Arrested on suspicion of attempted murder.

One person was shot in Åkersberga north of Stockholm during Sunday morning.

– I have not much info, it’s a person anträffad shot, says Lars Bystrom at Stockholm police.

Looking witnesses

The alarm came in 4:39 and so far, no one seized on suspicion of having shot the person.

It is still unclear how much damage person is.

Police have cordoned off the area for forensic examination and seeking witnesses to the incident.

Alerted ambulance

A witness, who wishes to remain anonymous, lives on street where the shooting took place. He woke up early on Sunday morning by two shots and a scream.

– I knew something was not right. So I ran out very quickly to see if anyone was hurt, he tells Aftonbladet.

When the witness ran into the street, he saw that a man was shot.

– He said he was shot in the chest, so he had to lie down. There was a guy and a lady and helped too. I made sure he was conscious, and so I called the ambulance. He was breathing and could not talk, said the witness.

According to the witness, the man seriously injured and left the scene in an ambulance helicopter.

– The event is classified as attempted murder. We’re working hard on it, says Lars Bystrom.

He tells me that the shot person is still alive.

– I have no details on the state of health, but he is still alive and we hope it stays that way.

Now working techniques to try to capture witnesses and obtain any motive for the assassination attempt.



Do not comment

According to Eva Nilsson, Communications at Stockholm police, the police would not comment on the incident at all as of yet. Some details about the shot man’s identity would it not leave.

– They are in an investigative mode that is pretty intense. They do not say anything at present. They work very hard out there right now, says Eva Nilsson to Aftonbladet.
