S bends – Party want extra daddy month – Expressen

The Social pivots on the question of parental insurance.

The party would now have an extra daddy month.

This means that there is a majority in parliament for more quota parenting days.

The Social writes in his upcoming election manifesto that the party wants to introduce a third daddy month, reported Swedish Radio.

Both the Liberal Party and the Green Party wants to previously introduce a third month in parental insurance to be earmarked for each parent. The Left wants to share parental day evenly between the parents.

The parliamentary parties that support the expansion of earmarking daddy days are thus in the majority in terms of the current mandate.

Do not support

But the Social Democrats did not support his proposals. The Left believes that the proposal is too weak, reported Swedish Radio. The Liberals would rather raise benefits for parents who equally share the outlet of parental days.

– We would rather put resources to encourage more men to take a fourth, fifth and sixth month, says Maria Arnholm, Liberal and Equality Swedish Radio .

Even Moderates are on the line.

– The Conservatives have been clear that we are prepared to strengthen gender equality bonus, says Oscar Karlflo, press secretary of the Moderate Party.

The Centre Party is open to a change in parental insurance where additional days set aside for each parent. Sweden Democrats and the Christian Democrats are against earmarking of days and wish that the parents decide how they should allocate days.

S-Turn

S now promising a third paternity month in the manifesto implies that Stefan Löfven turned the matter over for a year and a half ago. Then, in February 2013, he presented a “Forward Contract”, which can be seen as a model election manifesto. Some proposals for increasing the quota of the parental insurance was not included.

– We will not reverse the conditions for families, said Löfven when, according to TT.

He highlighted that this issue should families their discretion, at the kitchen table. Party executive was forced to a compromise on the future contract on Congress a month later.
